May 24th, Attendance: Mandatory. Is not a responsible professor. Very rude towards his students. Apr 21st, Attendance: Not Mandatory. Misleading professor who does not know the material very well. Treats students poorly. Apr 15th, He is not familiar with the course material and mislead students. Incompetent and unkind. Apr 13th, He is absolutely rude to his students.

It's ironic how he teaches compassion but is very selfish himself. He would never help a student and would not give the basic respect to students. Worst prof. It is appalling how selfish he is. And he teaches Karma, which is ironic. Dec 16th, Gives good feedback Get ready to read Participation matters. Jul 3rd, He gives very interesting lectures as long as you open your mind to get some knowledge from the word of religion. It is just an entry level class so could be pretty manageable once you put some effort on it.

May 1st, I love Dr. He's easily one of the best professors I've had this semester, and I would love to take another lecture by him. Funny, smart, passionate, he clearly enjoys what he's teaching. Remember to memorize and understand quotes and vocabulary. His final essay prompts are very interesting. Love him!!! Respected Skip class? He is extremely knowledgable about his topics and will make you fall in love with Buddhism. He has a great sense of humor, offers clear grading criteria and gives you cute buddhist souvenirs if you go to office hours. You have to work for an A, but definitely take this class. It is a privilege to hear his lectures. His insights about Buddhism is life-changing. Taking his class is the best decision I ever made. Would still take it again. No more needs to be said. He speaks very clear and to the point. Not too heavy workload as long as you put your heart to it.

Tests are easy to ace. Respected Participation matters Inspirational. Jan 29th, His exams are absolutely impossible. He does not know how to teach material whatsoever. He skips things and focuses on irrelevant information. His exams test you on unimportant information and they are designed so that you get a bad grade.

He needs to modernize his teaching methods. Sep 27th, Eckel is incredibly sweet, kind, and caring man. He really cares about his students and can teach an amazing amount about Buddhism. He keeps lectures light-hearted but also very educational.
