Cibo italiano a los angeles
Once again the food the service and the atmosphere at Cibos was outstanding. It remains our favorite fine dining spot in Monterey.
That has become an all too common experience for is as of late. Especially in expensive places. Walked in, immediately sat at a booth, per my request. Drinks were great, ordered cocktails. Appetizer and main course was tasty. Service was quick and courteous. Would go here again, just as a hang out. Made the mistake of ordering the artichoke, which came hard as a rock. To their credit, the restaurant apologized, informed the chef and credited the bill.
The pasta was good, not great, but the service was very good. Great service - Edgar is awesome!!!! Food was delicious and offered fresh gluten free options.
Staff was welcoming. Nice vibe in the restaurant. Authentic Italian family run restaurant. The veal chop was fantastic as usual. The sides of spinach and Yukon potatoes were sub par and unseasoned. The pizza my husband has was submerged in fried shallots to the point it was repulsive. Very sad meal for my 40th wedding anniversary.
We will not go back even though I love the veal chop. While the food was a little bland and had to return an appetizer because it was not good, the place has live music and that was the highlight. Raviolis were heavy and the sauce bland. The salmon was delicious. Waiter was great and music was also.
Great dinner! We had kids and the restaurant was very adaptable for us. Solid kid meals and great service. We will come back. Closed the kitchen prior to my dining time. Had to go somewhere else as a result. We very much enjoyed dining here on New Years Eve.
The food was excellent and I was impressed with the owners walking around greeting everyone. The one sour note was the service; it was average at best. Everything else was exceptional.
Dry dry chicken Marsala. Such a disappointment on Christmas Eve. First and last time. Service mediocre. I hate to write a review that is less than outstanding but we've tried Cibo several times while in Monterey. It just hasn't wow'd us at all.
This time we started in the bar for happy hour and appetizers. None were hot but should have been, and they were just OK, and some at our table wanted to sent them back. Dinner was also OK, but only OK. We've tried, but at this point it is off of our list. One waiter for our area of six tables. He was running but overwhelmed. The food was excellent and of value but our dining experience was marginal.
Service was perfect and food was delicious Heavenly panna cota for dessert. Sub-par Italian food. Service was very friendly though! Good food, excellent service but it was a rainy, cold day in Monterey and the restaurant was soooo cold! We all wore our coats and scarves during the entire meal. I was a single diner. The host was busy flirting with girls at the front desk, and would not even acknowledge me as I tried to check in for my reservation. Someone else finally came to seat me, the restaurant was almost empty on a Saturday night.
I barely got my coat off and the server asks me if I know what I want. I asked for a moment to open the menu. He came back frantically asking again. I ordered a martini and calamari. There was no one in the restaurant and the server was trying to get me out as soon as possible. I own 2 restaurants, and I can tell you this experience was beyond terrible. I will not be returning.
A fun place with great Italian food patronized by locals. Live music weekend nights. Outstanding food service and delicious food!
It is difficult to find an authentic and accommodating Italian Restaurant with my husband and my food allergies. Edgar, our waiter was outstanding and he was most kind. The owner stopped by our table after we were finished and asked us how our food was. Lovely person! The four of us had a delightful evening! Maitre D was appeared unprofessional. Shirt un-tucked, dull personality and even after making early reservations placed us in an undesirable location. I asked for another table restaurant was about 35 full and he said they were all booked.
We had wonderful service by Roberto. Dinner was great. We definitely will be retuning. Nice music, good service and a good pasta.
Lovely service, wonderful food. Love this place. It was way too loud for me even though we were seated as far away from the noise as possible. Cibo has the best Chicken Marsala I have ever had in my entire life. From the fresh baked bread to dip in your olive oil and vinegar to the bean soup to the craft cocktails, this place is a must see in Monterey. Over all the fancy dining my fiancee and I have been to in Monterey and Carmel, this place so far is our favorite.
We will be recommending this place to all of our friends and family looking for a great spot for Italian food or anyone who wants to know the best place to eat. Very good pasta. A bit noisy due to the live band. Overall, I was gonna quite pleased. Shrimp risotto awesome. Polenta creamy. Beets to die for. Bread fresh and tried not to fill up. Music from live band nice to listen and dance to. My pizza was very heavy and kept me awake at night. The short ribs were small chunks of meat on a mostly cheese pizza, and the fried Yukon potatoes turned out to be tiny, very salty fries.
My mother-in-law ordered the salmon and was happy with it. Overall we found the prices to be a bit high for the quality compared to other Italian restaurants in the area. We're not planning to go back. Superb food.
Great service. Really disappointing. Service was all over the place - waited ages for some things then main courses arrived literally as started plates were being cleared. Good mixed - pasta dishes ok, pizzas undercooked. Caprese salad and bruschetta were not good. Don't underestimate Cibo, while tourists pile in here the food is foodie-level, the jazz was good and the vibe was cool.
This was my second time dining at Cibo. The first was near Christmas and there was a jazz band that played wonderful holiday tunes. The second time was more recent. The seafood was delicious and service was attentive. Very friendly with a family feel, upscale ambiance, and nice downtown location.
Cibo Ristorante Italiano offers takeout which you can order by calling the restaurant at Cibo Ristorante Italiano is rated 4. Skip to Main Content. Sign up Sign in. California Central Coast. To be honest, it made me feel very relaxed.
I ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and my cousin went for Sauvignon Blanc. Our wine was served very fast so we could start enjoying the atmosphere and looking through the menu. Whenever I went to Italy, I promised myself to start learning Italian. Of course, I picked up some basic words during travelling, but this need felt urgent every time I went out to eat.
The names of the dishes were bringing me back to my amazing trips and awakening great memories, which I started sharing with my cousin. I think this describes the best how inseparable Italian culture is from its cuisine. The most popular starters are carpaccio di vitello veal carpaccio, black mission figs, basil aioli, brick dough and il foie gras seared foie gras, red endive, brioche, pear puree, saba. There are three types of salads, while the choice of pasta is much wider.
You may try different types of fresh egg pasta, hard durum pasta or filled and baked pasta with various types of meat, seafood or vegetables.
Mushroom or vegetable risotto goes great together with a choice of fish petrale sole, salmon or clams or meat ribeye, duck breast, chicken, New York steak, pork belly. No matter what you choose it will look spectacular and mouthwatering. The list seemed very complete to me so I left the dessert decision for later.
The starters appeared on our table in about 5 minutes after ordering. The service is worth all the compliments. Our waiter was patient, smiling and very helpful.
All the staff seemed experienced and confident. The way they talk to guests and present themselves creates this special feeling of upscale Los Angeles glamour.
The octopus I ordered set the right tone for the dinner. It was very well seasoned and balanced greatly with tender fingerling potatoes. Thumbs up to the staff again, but as soon as our forks touched the table and wine was almost gone, our waiter was there serving salads and offering more drinks. So timely, so perfect that we could not say no.
The Ceasar salad was good. Even though Caesar salad was not much to brag about, another popular and widely spread Italian dish made an impression on me. The mushroom risotto turned out a surprise. I have tried it millions of times in different countries and restaurants in the US, but I never thought there is something you could do to such basic dish to make it stand out. However, it was cooked to perfection, the structure was not too greasy or mushy, and the rice-to-mushroom ratio was precise with delicious creaminess.
Truly to die for. If you like dark meat, you will love the duck breast as much as I did. Cooked medium-rare with a sharp kick, it was juicy and even more flavorful when mixed with the beets and other toppings that came with it. We kept talking about our food while eating, kept looking at the way it was presented, wondering how hard it must be to make it and trying to guess the secrets of seasoning and sauces.
My cousin particularly mentioned the Burrata she had, which was a combination of a beautiful creative presentation and a rich taste. The portions here are not huge, unlike in many other American restaurants. After finishing our meals we felt very full and satisfied, but there was still a little room for dessert, so we ordered a Panna Cotta and my all-time favorite, Tiramisu.
Both desserts made a perfect ending to a perfect dinner. After reading all I had to say about one of the best restaurants in LA, Drago Centro , it becomes pretty obvious that I loved it. Kind waiting staff, prompt and attentive service, wonderful ambiance, and incomparable flavors of rich and tart Italian cuisine awaken the imagination.
Drago Centro is a perfect place for pretty much everything, also, make sure to check out Bestia Los Angeles or Orsa And Winston Restaurant , for some other unique Italian restaurant choices.
It is cozy and very modern for a business lunch, it has private tables for a romantic date, and a separate dining room for a party of 16 people. A wonderful outdoor lounge space adds unforgettable charm, while stone walls remind me of Italian scenery.
The exquisite and varied wine list complements an extensive menu, which contains almost every Italian dish you could ever ask for. The presentation, as well as the taste, is spectacular. There is no way you will not like it, so I rate it 10 out of 10!
