Find out what else sets SPU apart. Follow story. Text size A A A. Cathy's soul went to be with Jesus on October 4, She was the daughter of the late William and Evelyn Bryan. She was married to her beloved husband of 47 years, John. She attended Nazarene Theological Seminary, studying linguistics.

Cathy was doing work in educational psychology when she was called to serve in Okinawa. She studied under Kozuko Obouchi Sensei, her friend and tutor. Cathy taught 4th grade and ministered to the children's families. A special thanks to her Lord and Redeemer, and secondly to her husband, John, for his love and care.

Her constant companion, Sooty, will miss her dearly. Cathy was blessed with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends. The memorial service will be live streamed on Facebook webpage, West Somerset Baptist Church for those unable to attend.
