She currently serves on several community and nonprofit boards including Benjamin Rose Institute, Village Capital Corporation, as well as audit and financial advisory committees for several local governments including the City of Cleveland, City of Rocky River and the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.

The council has been instrumental in enhancing relationship between major and minority corporate CEOs in Northeast Ohio. The foundation trains both entrepreneurs and students toward greater success and leadership in the African American community and beyond. Deb Janik joined the Greater Cleveland Partnership as senior vice president, real estate and business development in Janik provides GCP staff support for public-private partnership efforts on catalytic large scale developments, infrastructure and public space improvements throughout Greater Cleveland.

There she was responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy to advance community and economic development initiatives in accordance with the Ports mission.

Janik previously served as chief of staff and chief development officer for Mayor Jane L. Campbell at the City of Cleveland. In addition to overseeing the daily operations of all City departments, she was responsible for the planning and financing of all community and economic development activities of the city. Her work in public service began at the City of Cleveland in In she was appointed to then Mayor Michael R. White's executive staff. She has nearly 30 years of public, private, and not-for-profit experience.

She is a graduate of Kent State University and holds a bachelor's of business administration degree in finance with a concentration in real estate. She and her family reside in Rocky River. Megan joined the GCP in and, over the years, has held various roles within the organization in product management, events management, educational programming, marketing and communications.

In her SVP role, she manages overall operations and strategic planning in the areas of membership development and retention, marketing and communications, advertising and sponsorship, and events and program management. Additionally, she helped plan hospital and network related events including the annual golf outing and the three-day Rainbow Radio-thon.

Megan graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism with a focus in public relations and specializations in sociology and marketing. Shana Marbury, Esq.

Shana oversees legal affairs for the GCP and several of its affiliated entities. Prior to her employment at the GCP, Shana worked as a consultant in the areas of diversity and inclusion. She assisted in developing diversity training materials focused on interpersonal relationships among people of a variety of backgrounds, worldviews, customs and values in the 21st century workplace. Shana co-facilitated training where participants were introduced to core diversity concepts and developed competency in their application.

She counseled private- and public-sector employers, including public school districts and private schools, on staff, administrative and faculty labor and employment issues, concerns regarding state and federal civil rights laws and educational statutes, investigations, student discipline and other student-related issues.

Shana received her Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School and completed her undergraduate work at Tufts University, where she double-majored in sociology and political science. Marty joined GCP as vice president of state and local government advocacy in In that capacity, he served as the point person on many GCP priorities including the Cleveland education reform legislative effort to ensure implementation of the Cleveland Plan impacting the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.

Marty also successfully advocated for the extension of the Cuyahoga County sin tax, secured key investments through the state capital bill, and the legislation that enabled the funding of Opportunity Corridor.
